I know this is the first post that will not be seen right away because I am trying to get some content flowing before we actually launch this website. We could start this off on Wednesday, July 20th in 2022, inside a garage under a Dodge Eco-Diesel but the truth is this journey actually started a night in 2003.

November 2nd, 2003, I boarded my first flight ever and then got put on a bus that stopped at a little building just outside of the San Diego Airport. As I was sitting there with my head in my lap all I could think was “What did I do to myself?” I was about to embark on a journey that would not only shape my life but also define it. My time in the military is something I could write multiple books on and maybe in the future I will do just that. I met so many people in those twelve years and many of them I randomly talk to here and there just because they came to mind or I came to theirs.

The sad part is that since we left and went about our civilian lives we have lost more brothers to the war in their minds. To the point that it has weighed on my heart to start doing something to help combat this loss of great humans. This feeling truly took hold of me as I drove 4 hours to and from a funeral this last year of a man I would have never thought would have taken his own life ever. I loved this human being more than most I had come across in my time in the Marine Corps. I even put my own reputation on the line at one point to help get him out of trouble. I could not shake the thought that I was a veteran who had found a way to combat PTSD and also another major factor of life-altering injury that often causes suicide issues. I needed to share my thoughts on the matter and show others how to defeat the demons and live a fruitful life.

I know I did not answer many questions or show any strategy in how to combat the mental illnesses that we suffer from in this post. I just wanted to share with you why I wanted to start this blog and let everyone know that we will be sharing different ways to combat the lying voices and show you how to see the good that you are in this world.
